What is Switched On?
Switched On is a youth event held roughly every 6 weeks. It is mainly for high school (year 8-12) aged students, though all are welcome.
They gather to worship God, learn more about Him, catch up with old friends and make new friends as they hang out in an open, friendly atmosphere.
They also get to find out about what local youth groups from around the area have been doing recently, and to join in with future activities which may range from hanging out playing board games to mountain climbing or photo-scavenger hunts.
Switched On events are also considered a follow-up to the annual Easter Camp at Melrose, allowing youth to catch up with their camp leaders and for friendships formed on camp to continue and grow.
Where is it?
Switched On events are held throught the mid-north region of South Australia. We define this area as from Port Augusta at the north end all the way down to south of Crystal Brook, and from the Spencer Gulf across to Orroroo and Jamestown in the west.

Who makes this happen?
Switched On events are overseen by the Northern Youth Leaders Network (NYLN), a group of Christian youth leaders and youth workers from throughout the mid-north region, many of whom are involved in planning and running Switched On events in their own local area.
The groups currently involved in running Switched On events include:
- Port Pirie Baptist Church
- MAD4Youth (Booleroo Ministry Centre and Orroroo)
- Eveready Youth (Port Augusta Uniting Church)
- Laura Baptist Church
Each of these groups are independent organisations, operating under their own respective state or national bodies.
We welcome any individuals or organisations who would like to be involved in running Switched On events, but ask that this be done with the permission and oversight of NYLN so as to provide participants of Switched On events with a relatively consistent format and a friendly, God centred environment.
We ask that events not be labeled as "Switched On" events without prior permission from NYLN.
